California Customers – AB 1263 Notice

The State of California has enacted Assembly Bill 1263, which is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026. The new law introduces additional requirements that will affect California residents purchasing certain firearm-related components.

KRISS USA is actively reviewing the legislation and assessing updates to our e-commerce and fulfillment processes to ensure compliance while continuing to support our California customers wherever possible.

Under AB 1263, manufacturers and retailers are required to verify both the purchaser’s age and shipping address for products deemed to be “clearly designed and intended for use in manufacturing firearms.” Based on the statute’s broad and, in some areas, ambiguous language, this requirement may apply to a wide range of components—including major firearm parts, sub-assemblies, and potentially even smaller hardware items. As a result, the full scope of affected products remains subject to interpretation.

To address these requirements while protecting customer privacy, KRISS USA is evaluating third-party verification solutions that can confirm age and address eligibility without retaining or storing images of state identification.

Our goal is to implement a compliant and secure solution for our California customers as quickly as possible. Ensuring adherence to the law while safeguarding personal information takes time, and we appreciate your patience and continued support as we work through these changes.
